3/18/04.....I congratulated a woman working in a restaurant on her cheerful, friendly disposition. I said, "They are fortunate to have you. I hope they appreciate you." She said she wasn't always this way; she used to be very down and sour. One day a man said to her, "You know; you have a real attitude problem." She listened to him, thought about it, and made the decision to change. She decided to be a positive, pleasant, and up-beat person. And, you know what, she is!
6/7/03.....I heard a song on Garrison Keillor's Prairie Home Companion radio show today. The refrain was "99 and 1/2 won't do." That phrase took me right back to the day I walked the four-mile round trip from Clyde Butcher's Big Cypress Gallery to the Midway Campground. On the way back I decided to count alligators in/by the canal along the road. Well, within that two miles, I counted 99 alligators! I sure wanted it to be 100...
